Commander who has 3+0 can add one and a 4+0 commander can add two to a test for "move to combat contact", can they also do this for the reaction tests as well? We are assuming it is not a combat or firing bonus.
if commander has the +1 "inspiration" is this just a bonus for morale tests or for all FS scores, including combats and firing? Does this bonus only count if attached or is it sufficient to be in command range?
The inspiration bonus is only used for rallying FS from units.
Other commander bonuses are based on control factor.
So a 12/3/+3 commander would be, command range 12", +1 for any of the optional rules morale tests if playing with the morale options and +3 when rallying unit fatigue off, hence quite average at command and control but rather an inspiration to his troops.
OK, get the " inspiration" thing. Can you clarify what you mean by " optional morale tests"? I am assuming all tests to move to combat contact or react to such a move, as there are several options open to the commander. What about the compulsory morale tests when wavering/ routing/ destroyed unit with 6 inches? Is command and control bonus ignored for these tests?
